The avant garde piece of the "Black Prints" series, this piece represents the summation of an important season of Simba's career. Meticulously crafted over a month, Uhuru Means Freedom is a celebration of 20th and early 21st century Black literature, inspired by the works of Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Kendrick Lamar, Léopold Sédar Senghor, and more.

Uhuru Means Freedom represents the most extensive and elaborate display of Simba's signature "Black Prints" style, inspired by the natural elements of water, light, and organic geometry. This special, custom panel was created with the help of a master carpenter to create a panel large enough to contain the entirety of themes and narratives explored and celebrated in the rest of Simba's "Black Prints" series, while maintaining the stability and quality of the wooden surface.
