PAVILLON 54 ARTWORKS

How are Pavillon 54 artworks selected?

We showcase the most talented artists from Africa and the African diaspora. We source artworks directly from artists and/or their galleries. All artwork on our website is curated to guaranty the highest quality of work.

How is the price of an artwork defined?

Artwork is priced using artist input, market research and the expertise of our team . We, together with the artist, will determined the price of an artwork using criteria such as size, medium, materials and techniques used, context, story and track record of the artists and their sales history.

What is an “original work”?

An original work is a completely unique piece of artwork. Mediums typically include oil, acrylic, watercolor, etching, or pencil.

What does “limited edition” and “open edition” mean?

Certain pieces of artwork, mostly photography and printmaking, are labeled as either “limited edition” or “open edition”. Pieces that are in a limited edition are produced in a set limited quantity. The artist directly oversees production and sets the edition size. Therefore, when an edition is sold out, it is no longer available. Open edition artworks are not limited in quantity and can be reproduced indefinitely. In both cases, each piece in the edition is identical and is considered an original. Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available.

Does Pavillon 54 offer framing services?

We sell artworks unframed. This allows clients to select frames that suit their decor, or to display the work unframed if preferred.
