In Mafalda's own words - "The mini canvases are “bricks” making a wall of side portraits. It felt like a more honest way of portraying a group of people, each individual and identity comes together. As a group they create this “village” and community. Inspired by the sense of community that is very unique in Africa and I haven’t felt anywhere else"
