Khumo Sebambo is a freelance writer and curator based in Johannesburg. She holds an MA from the School of Literature, Language and Media at WITS University. Her writing has appeared in publications such as ArtAfrica Magazine, Art Momentum, in-review and ArtThrob. She has curated several exhibitions such as YOUNG NOW (2017), and Conversations in Texture (2019); she was also the assistant curator for NOT A SINGLE STORY (2018), a collaborative exhibition between the NIROX Foundation, South Africa and Wanås Konst, Sweden. In 2020 Khumo founded Gaze, an art advisory that assists collectors in building robust collections of contemporary African art. Most recently Khumo was involved in the exhibitions The ‘t’ is Silent at Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Belgium and The Show is Over at South London Gallery.
