Born in 1971 in Ivory Coast, Fototala King Massassy is a Malian artist with abundant production. Rapper, actor and self-taught photographer, he is unclassifiable. First an amateur, Fototala King Massassy began to practice photography in 2007 and made it one of his main professional activities in 2015.
He quickly exhibited in Mali, for the Bamako Biennale, then in France, the Netherlands, Canada and United Kingdom.
Through the portraits of his everyday heroes, Fototala King Massassy talks about the Africa he wants to see "know and love himself" and intends to "show how dynamic, inventive and fertile Africa is".

Fototala King Massassy, is a Malian artist born in 1971 in Ivory Coast. This multidisciplinary and multifaceted artist develops musical projects (Mali Music Award 2006), theatrical projects (African and European tour of his plays Le retour de Bougougniere, Bougouniere invite à diner and L’Homme aux six noms from 2001 to 2016) or audio-visual projects (co-writing of the series Taxitigui in 2016, comedian in the series Cyberdebrouille for Canal-plus Africa).
In 2007, he meets photography, which will become his main professional activity. After his exhibition at the Rencontres de Bamako in 2015, he became the official photographer of Photo Kalo, the biennial photo of Bamako in 2016.
Through everyday-hero portraits, Fototala King Massassy speaks of the Africa he wants to see “knows and loves itself” and wants to show how Africa is dynamic, inventive and fertile.
Exhibited at the Bamako Biennale, in France, in Senegal (Gorée) and in the United Kingdom (Brighton).
